Over the years, the high level of Air Pollution Index
has led to growing public concern, threatening not only health, but also Hong Kong
reputation as an international business and tourism centre. With the support of the Hong
Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), the Business Coalition on the Environment
(BCE) is leading a Hong Kong business sector effort - the Project CLEAN AIR - to combat
air pollution and improve air quality in the Greater Pearl River Delta. The focal point of
the project is the Clean Air Charter, which is supported by a series of campaign
activities to engage the government, business sector and the community in a collective
effort.
The Project is implemented by the Hong Kong General Chamber of
Commerce and supported by 33-member BCE. The Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council
is the strategic partner.
